Restaurant Review: LivinGreens @ Beach Road

Posted on | August 20, 2011 | No Comments

LivinGreens café  on Beach road offers delicious asian and western style vegan dishes. There are plenty of options to choose from including brown rice sets, noodle soup, pasta, salads, cakes and desserts (there were even organic mooncakes available)

The chef at this cafe began her love of cooking healthy, nutritious, wholesome vegan food after realizing the health benefits felt by a friend suffering from cancer after they ate her food. All of the items on the menu are made from all fresh ingredients, filtered water, are low in salt and oil and contain no trans fats, dairy or meat.  The end result is truly delicious.

During my lunch visit I enjoyed the Tomato Mushroom Spaghetti that was made from semolina pasta stir-fried with mushrooms, red and green capsicums then topped with a home-made sauce of fresh tomatoes, oregano and parsley. (check out the photo of how it looked).  It was truly delicious – I didn’t for one second miss the cheese topping or meat. And best of all, the prices are excellent and portions are great.  I can’t wait to go back and try some more options on the menu – I think I’ll try the vegetable lasagna next.

There is also a large selection of organic food, snacks and health products to be purchased at their pantry.  I even managed to finally find organic brown wild rice which alot of people have been asking me where to buy.

I highly recommend trying this cafe, this is one chef that you can trust to keep your health and body in mind as they are preparing your food.  And best of all, after leaving out the unhealthy stuff, this food is just so delicious and nutritious you won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything.
