It’s official – The Burgers are NOT BETTER at Hungry Jacks

It has bread, lettuce, tomato and a meat patty – it can’t be that bad right?
Wrong! And just how bad it is is now printed for everyone to see.
Fast food giants Hungry Jacks (Burger King) have bowed to new changes to combat obesity and have printed the calorie content of their food on menu boards. And some consumers might be alarmed to see just what they are eating.
An average Hungry Jack’s Whopper with cheese burger contains 745 calories (34g Protein 46.5g Carbs, 47g Fat … yes that’s correct….. this burger contains more FAT than any other energy source). But of course not too many consumers only eat the burger – if you factor in a regular sized drink (200 calories) and regular fries (375 calories) you are consuming a whopping 1,320 calories in just one meal.
The truth in these numbers have seen the company changing their 16 year long tag line of “The burgers are better at Hungry Jacks” to “Hungry Jack’s makes it better”. I can confirm, Hungry Jack’s is not making obesity better, that’s for sure.
My problem with this change is that consumers still don’t understand the impact to them personally. What that number on the menu means to them. So therefore, what does eating 1,320 calories in a Whooper meal mean?
It means you are consuming nearly the entire daily allowance of energy (calories) in just one meal. This causes you to gain weight as you will over consume energy in the remaining meals you eat throughout the day. The total fat in this meal is 67.5g, which is more than double the recommended daily allowance. These ridiculous levels of fat drive obesity and cause health problems such as high cholesterol and heart disease which lead to death. This meal provides the wrong balance of nutrition and will lead to lethargy and poor energy levels.
Hungry Jack’s fans should resist the temptation to eat their meals everyday… their burgers contain far more calories than most other popular fast food chains. I really can’t advise how to make a healthier choice here. Even if you had a burger with no meat it still contains 405 calories. Please don’t go running to McDonalds or KFC and think you’re being healthier, I think it’s better to ask yourself how you’d rather spend those 1,320 calories and lengthen your life expectancy by doing so.

You could make the burger alot healthier by removing the sauce…!
I believe that it would drop the calories by at least a few hundreds..

Yes… very true… the burgers are dripping with Mayonnaise. If you asked for no sauce you’d save anywhere from 150 – 250 calories.
