10km Dragon Boat Race

Most Health Guru fans will know that I’m obsessed with paddling! I paddle in Singapore with Austcham Paddle Club (a.k.a The Aussies). Last weekend we took part in the Austcham 10km race hosted at Kallang River.
The course was a sprint start from Kallang up to the Marina Barrage, a right turn up past the casino towards the Merlion, a left turn to take us back towards Marina, another left turn back towards Kallang and a final left turn to the finish line at the Nichol Highway bridge.
The Aussies did extremely well – we came into the 1st turn in 1st place and then slipped behind at the 2nd turn. We then held on to 2nd place throughout the entire race, trying hard to chase down the lead boat. After just over 49 minutes of continuous paddling we came in 2nd – winning a well earned SILVER MEDAL.
