Nutrition Info: Soba Noodles

Soba noodles originate from Japan and are made with at least 30% buckwheat flour and the remainder is wheat flour. They are similar to spaghetti noodles except light brown in colour. They are an extremely healthy choice, here’s why:
What is Buckwheat? It is a fruit seed that is gluten free.
Health Benefits of Buckwheat:
- Excellent source of fibre
- Contains 8 essential amino acids and more protein than grains
- More nutritionally complete than grains as it is not deficient in Lysine (amino acid)
- Excellent source of magnesium and other minerals
- Helps reduce blood glucose
- Improves Heart health by lowering Cholesterol and Blood Pressure
- Rich in flavanoids

- Energy: 99 calories
- Protein: 5.1 g
- Carbs: 21.4 g
- Fat: 0.1 g
Buckwheat is very versatile and can be used the same way as oatmeal. When made into flour it can be made into noodles, pancakes, cakes and biscuits. If you haven’t tried this nutty flavoured super food I can highly recommend it.
