Formula 1 Track Run!

Last night myself and some of the aussie paddlers attempted our annual Formula 1 Race Track Run.
The Formula 1 held in Singapore is a night race and for days prior to the race they barricade off the streets through the middle of the city and what roads are normally seen with bumper to bumper traffic are completely empty (and it feels so strange).
Last year I was lucky enough to enter the track at The Fullerton Hotel bend, run down the straight across the bridge and turn towards pit lane before being cleared off! And last night was our yearly attempt to do the same.
Sadly, our mission was very unsuccessful.
Infact, it was almost impossible to navigate anywhere as most of the footpaths, bridges and roads were all closed. If felt like we were mice in a maze!
In the end we had a great run – from Fort Canning down and around the Merlion across to the new Marina Sands Casino until we could literally not go any further – and had to turn around to retrace our steps back to Fort Canning.
Our team has some fantastic phone applications in use during our training sessions and we are able to capture the routes and distances run or paddled!
Check out what we did last night:
